The Field Mice - Emma's House

I feel like by posting song lyrics, I will come across as a teenage fangirl, though it is for research purposes! Going back to the ambitious idea of doing a full music video, my current idea is to take a duotone photo of a scene around Bristol (this fits with the images seen on Sarah's compilation albums) and overly an animated illustration on top.

Emma's House lyrics:

Song:

I'd say it's Sarah records' most well known song. It's a bittersweet, very honest song that sums up the mixed feelings after a break-up - acceptance but whistfulness at the same time. There is a danger of it all being a bit too twee and saccharine visually.

My initial idea is a single line drawing that would reveal itself over the image.

Could be done in quite an expressive, chaotic way (which would contrast nicely with a photographic image) and would be a move from my usual drawing style

OR

Something more design centric - that is cleaner, well planned.

I'm wondering if this could be done in After Effects as an animated blob of ink that draws the image in a magical etch-o-sketch kind of way. Not sure how well suited it would be for a stop motion animation... Time to start storyboarding?
