Research into stop motion and time lapse live art

I have to admit, as much as I loved Penny's suggestion of creating a time lapse music video of me creating an illustration or mural relating to Sarah Records, the idea filled me with apprehension. Self-conscious towards the prospect of being filmed and even more self-conscious that I may only have one chance to get what I'm creating right!

Turning to Youtube for inspiration, I found a few different starting points:

'Apple' stop motion paper animation by Studio Nos

Love the intricacy of the detail and that it mixes a real world setting with something pretty whimsical.

"Reindeer sweater” twee paper stop motion by for Russian musician Nikita Krainov

Record player zoetrope

This could give some interesting effects and with a bit of planning, could be quite quick to put together.

Timelapse art, “Adventure” watercolour by Youtube artist Mary Doodles

Really love the effect of the ink spreading in an effortless way.

Not so visible on these pictures, but the textures are layered up with halftones, so stylistically fits in well with the photocopied 'found items' look that comes with the zine territory.

Time lapse linocut and print, "Babylon Tower" by Felix Newhouse

Lino cutting would give a similar visual to the layered photocopy style of the Field Mice's album covers

“Muto” stop motion graffiti by Blu

This is where I will set up camp over the next week trialing out different visual techniques and videoing them:
